ADOPTIONS Adoption
is a lifetime commitment . . . Think
about it seriously and be sure it's right for you.
If it is, and you've made the decision to adopt,
allow us to help you find your new best friend. Our Adoption Counselor’s will help you find
the right pet for your lifestyle! Deciding to adopt a pet is an important decision and we are
here to help you through the process. Bare with us, our adoption counselors
will work hard to place the right pet with the right home. The staff at the Horry County Humane Society treat each
shelter animal as if it were their own. We can be a little protective over
our four-legged tenants, and are looking to place each animal in a PERMANENT, loving home. An adoption
counselor will ask you questions regarding your home, past and current pets,
veterinarian history, children, and your level of pet care knowledge. Please
feel free to ask questions or express any concerns. Again, we are here to
help you find your new best friend. Adoption applications will be reviewed in the order received. We require pet meets with all existing
pets and proof of rabies vaccinations.
If you rent or lease your home, please submit a Landlord Agreement
with your application. Our adoption fees range from $30 - $50 for cats and
kittens and $50 - $80 for dogs and puppies and include the following: Spaying or neutering, current rabies
vaccine as well as first set of vaccines and microchip! Seniors over 60 may participate in the Purina Pets
For Seniors program and receive reduced adoption fees! For more information about Purina Pets For
